I auctioned some of my (late) parents' valuable things through our local auctioneer (albeit in a fairly posh area), and was a bit disappointed. Two items were snapped up, which suggested to me that expert buyers had come for - and found - a bargain, and the rest of the stuff went cheaply. i think i should have done more research and found specialist dealers for each type of thing.
