Help! Trying to make a pull pinata for a Dora the explorer party!

Hi, I need some help!
DD is turning three at the end of November and I have decided to have her a Dora the Explorer themed party.
As money is a bit tight (hahaha hysterical laughter) I am having to be a bit arty crafty and make stuff rather than buy it.
I wanted to finish the party with a pinata, but since the kids are all going to be three and under I decided that the normal whack it with a stick style pinata was asking for trouble.
I saw the pinatas that have ribbons hanging off them and wondered how I would go about making this.

I guess that I turn a box upside down and decorate it, but how do I do the ribbons? Won't it be obvious which one opens the trap door?

Any hints and tips will be gratefully received.
Also any "Dora" ideas for the party

Well dd2 opened her Dora bath toy on Saturday - her birthday is tomorrow but my sister came down specially so we opened it early - dd2 nearly fainted with joy - she went stiff, clenched her fists, gritted her teeth and chanted 'Dora Boots! Dora Boots!' over and over again, kissed it and has been inseperable from it ever since - refuses to put it in the bath though lol.

hey enid have you seen tehre e new sports topic?

enid · 18/10/2004 20:03

but we can't have a Dora party as all dd2's friends come from more intellectual stock and none of them have Sky or indeed even know who Dora is

Ah ah ah, I am hyperventillating with joy too!
Thank you Kateandthegirls! Printable Dora certificates!
Enid, my DD's friends are the same...Most of the mothers looked blank when I mentioned Dora...Is that going to stop me? Nope!
It was a toss up between Dora and the Wiggles for a theme, until I realised that the I enjoyed the Wiggles more than DD .

Here's a ready made Dora pull pinata, you would have to fill it and it isn't cheap:
