I just want to say that on any website that we discuss so many different subjects....it is bound to upset or aggrivate some sort of reaction from people. We wouldn't be human if it didn't............nor should we be allowed to offer advice our answers should be censored.

Maybe, we should try to move forward from this unfortunate problem MN has occurred right now and try to not be offended with questions from people on this site.

I know myself that I have recently found a lump in my breast and have had loads of support from everyone on this site. I know that my mentioning this type of subject could upset a person on this site whom will have breast cancer, but maybe we should try to be a little bit more honest with eachother.

If a subject bothers a certain person for whatever reason.....they sould feel able to state their opinion without being jumped on.

PLease do not let this site be ruined like so many others I have been on.....please, lets just get back to being a great website.

What does everyone think???? Allow freedom of speech without insults or upset?????

So pleased that like many others before you you have found support with regard to the lump in your breast. Sorry to learn of this and hope you are and will continue to be okay.

Mumsnet is wonderful and I agree with your post.

I'll be here - sad little life I have

GeorginaA · 11/10/2004 22:48

Folks, it's all the great circle of Internet Life. I've been on the Internet since 1993 - IRC, newsgroups, message boards, mailing lists, blogs... they ALL go through this at some point or another. They all sort themselves out after a while.

The sky is not falling in It's all part and parcel of the same effect that means we open up more and are more generous of spirit on the Internet... focus on the positive aspects if you can.

JanH · 11/10/2004 22:49

2wildbabies - I have been in your position - my news was not good then, so I have stayed off your thread until now, but reading your post (about possibly upsetting others who have had breast cancer) the good news is that was 4 years ago and I am doing fine, so I hope that will help you feel positive about whatever you may hear tomorrow. Good luck. XXX

2wildbabies · 11/10/2004 22:51

very true. These things happen. We should try to not take everything as an insult. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and not everyone will agree........life would not be colourful if we all agreed!!!!

Exactly . I actually think one of Mumsnet's strengths is its diversity. I've certainly changed my opinion on a number of "hot topics" since joining here. Of course, the downside is that these hot topics usually mean that things get more than a little heated in the process

I echo JanH in wishing you luck for tomorrow. Will be thinking of you. xxx

2wildbabies · 11/10/2004 22:56

How great this site is. I have put a message up and instantly I have loads of support..........thank you all, thank you so much xxxx

I agree with GeorginaA, it just wouldn't be normal to agree all the time and MOST of the time, things are eventually resolved. Sometimes i think someone is having a go and then when i re-read their post i actually read it totally different.

Good luck for tomorrow++++++++++++++++++++
