MSN video call and phone call..advice

hi on msn you can plug in a mic and chat ,can someone tell me if its free please,as ive been using it since monday to chat to the usa ,and just wanted to make sure ,,thank you ,,

well it does work newlife...too well im knackered! but still need to know lol
