When our kitchen was being done we used a washing up bowl (filled it from the bathroom sink but used it downstairs iyswim)

Disposables- perfectly acceptable! Get yourself to a pound shop and get plates and cups and cutlery.Plus lots of kitchen roll, then if you just have sandwich/toast you don't even need a plate! The living room becomes such a pigsty a few more crumbs don't matter....

(but it is a right old pain having no sink!)
