Just asking as I saw 5p before and automatically picked it up lol

then thought Ooops, imagine if some one saw me!!!!!

So what would you bend over for?

Surely we would all pick up £1 if we saw one in the street?

Most I imagine would pick up a 50p?

But what about a 20p and a 10?

5p?

what about 2p and 1p lol?????????

???????????????????

TheArmadillo · 19/09/2007 12:16

5p.

I'm a scab

TheQueenOfQuotes · 19/09/2007 12:18

I'll pick anything up I will (money wise that it is ).

When I was at school I had a money pot where I'd put all the 1,2 and 5ps etc I'd found on the street - I ended up with over £5 in it!!!

MrsSpoon · 19/09/2007 12:20

I feel a bit funny about picking up money in the street. I'd hate to think someone had dropped it and was looking for it. However I did pick up a £20 note once, it was on the street outside the Women's Aid offices and I felt there was a chance it belonged to either one of the staff or perhaps someone who had visited the office so took it in there and they assured me that if it didn't belong to someone connected with the office they would hand it to the Police but I can't help but think they may have put it in the drinks kitty for a night out.

gingerninger · 19/09/2007 12:21

See a penny pick it up, all day long you'll have good luck
I pick up any coins!!

claricebeansmum · 19/09/2007 12:23

anniebear · 19/09/2007 12:26

I pick up 1ps and give em to the DCs for money boxes or charity boxes.

I'm a cheapskate, clearly

magnolia74 · 19/09/2007 12:30

I pick up any money

Ok so how much would you pick up before worrying about it belonging to someone else??

IdrisTheDragon · 19/09/2007 12:32

I pick up pennies .

CharlotteDeBerry · 19/09/2007 12:32

I'd pick up anything too! DD is really good at spotting them, I guess she's closer to the ground.

mindalinarrrmehearties · 19/09/2007 12:32

I pick up pennies but not anything between that and 50p...

Wolfgirl · 19/09/2007 12:34

well, DS picks everything up now, so not an issue; but.........if I were on my own, depends what mood I was in. would prob ignore pence now, but def stretch the muscles for a quid plus.

mawbroon · 19/09/2007 12:41

I pick up any coin or note

One time I was going to get the bus home and I only had a 50p and a £10 note. I was 5p short and the bus only took exact change. There were no shops nearby to burst a tenner to get the right change so I decided to walk for a bit and see if I could find 5p on the ground. Imagine my surprise when I saw a fiver lying there!!! I was so pleased that I just walked home

This was in the days when you could still get a fiver out of the cashline, so it was quite a big deal for an empoverished student!

There were a few coins lying on the floor in town the other day when I went - I didn't pick them up as I thought it was a trick and I'd end up on one of thos just for laughs programmes

Macdog · 19/09/2007 12:47

I pick up any coins and put them in a charity jar at home.
It soon mounts up

anniebear · 19/09/2007 12:48

Lol, yes, I remember quite a few years ago trying to pick up a 2p and it was stuck solid!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Someone did actually glue some coins to a pavement for their own amusement once but they were mortified when my dd tried to pick them up and sobbed when she couldn't(dd sobbed, not the 'jokers').

I pick up anything (goes towards dd's packed lunch!). But 4 weeks ago I found £140 outside Tesco's! Did hand it in though - would feel too guilty keeping that much.

pyjamaqueen · 19/09/2007 12:53

I would probably pick up anything.

TheQueenOfQuotes · 19/09/2007 13:02

ahh yes I've come across the "stuck to the floor" ones too........there's an easy way not to be embarassed - try and "kick" them....if they don't move you don't need to embarass yourself by obviously bending down and trying to get them - if they move then you can

I don't think I'd feel comfortable picking more than £10-£20 up - anything more and it wouldn't feel right.

Clary · 19/09/2007 13:20

DS1 in partic is adept at finding money, on a typical day out he has picked up upwards of £1 in various coins.

DH says it's because peopel have so much money/are so lazy nowadays they just throw their change on the floor!

southeastbird · 20/09/2007 05:59

i would pick up 20p and up i think x

anniebear · 20/09/2007 14:34

so How much would it have to be for you to feeling bad about keeping it?

I could easily keep £5, £10 and prob a £20, note, after that I would maybe be thinking I shouldnt be keeping it
