Pyjama subscriptions

I wasn't sure what category to put this under but here goes, has anybody ever subscribed to a monthly pyjama subscription? I'm getting a bonus from work for working during corona ( in retail so a key worker) and thought I'd treat myself. Which company did you go with? What did you think of them? Are they any good? Are they worth the money? Sorry for all the questions I didn't want to sign up without some honest feedback. Tia

Surely it would be better to just choose some pyjamas you really like each month and buy them?

Shaunthesheep34 · 29/03/2020 08:39

I'd prefer a surprise every month, the thrill of not knowing what style I'm getting.

Why would you need (at least) 12 pairs of pyjamas? Especially if you don't even know you'll like them all?

Seventyone72seventy3 · 29/03/2020 08:42

Sounds really wasteful. Why would anyone need so many pyjamas?

Shaunthesheep34 · 29/03/2020 08:44

I'll maybe not bother then might get a book subscription instead.

What a miserable bunch!
Never done it OP but hopefully someone comes along that has. Get 12 pairs of pjs if it’ll put a smile on your face.

Caspianberg · 29/03/2020 08:46

Sounds unnecessary. A new pair of PJs every month? what do you do to the old ones that makes them need replacing so often?

Don't most people just have 2-3 pairs that last semi forever?

Pipandmum · 29/03/2020 08:48

Well each to his own but I'm still wearing pjs from ten years ago.
I've always been interested in the bouquet a month thing though.

Aramox · 29/03/2020 08:51

Why on earth would you need twelve pairs of pyjamas?

Seventyone72seventy3 · 29/03/2020 08:52

A bouquet or a book sounds much better! @Scoobyboob I don't think it's miserable to care about textile waste, it's actually causing a lot of environmental damage.

breakingbetter · 29/03/2020 08:54

I bet I have way more than 12 pairs of pyjamas, if you include all the clothes that get demoted to pyjamas.

I think it sounds a nice idea, I think I'd prefer a flower subscription though Smile

NChangeForNoReason · 29/03/2020 08:56

Flowers last days (couple of weeks max). Pjs last a lifetime - don't be wasteful don't get flowers!!

Get pjs that u can wear FOREVER Grin

polkadotpixie · 29/03/2020 09:08

I love new pyjamas so this sounds like a great idea to me! Treat yourself if it makes you happy 😊

AnnaMagnani · 29/03/2020 09:13

What are you going to do with the old pyjamas? How many pyjamas does one person need?

Looks at me and DH wearing 10 yr old pyjamas

SallyWD · 29/03/2020 09:24

I have only 3 pairs of winter Pyjamas and 3 pairs of summer Pyjamas. 12 pairs would be too much for me BUT if you'd be OK with it/would make good use of them then go for it! We all deserve a frivolous treat during these hard times.

IWantT0BreakFree · 29/03/2020 09:30

We are literally in the midst of a global pandemic that scientists are calling a "warning shot" from nature. No it isn't "miserable" to point out that ordering a new set of PJs every month is wasteful.
Get 12 pairs of pjs if it’ll put a smile on your face
^ this is why the environment is damaged beyond repair. Everyone just doing whatever they fancy and not considering or caring about the impact.

inwood · 29/03/2020 09:43

I cannot imagine needing a new pair of pyjamas a month. I can't believe that there are enough people that want this to run a Subscription service.

Shaunthesheep34 · 29/03/2020 09:50

I said above I'm not going to bother, I think I'll just keep my money and not even bother with books and not buy myself anything as anything I but will be wasteful. Thanks everyone.

Most of them aren’t 12 sets they are either quarterly or for 3-6 months.
I’ve often fancied a 3 month one I love coming home and putting my pyjamas on after work and a surprise would be nice.

drspouse · 29/03/2020 10:10

There are lots of different subscription services but I don't think there's a specific pyjamas one.
But I got DH a socks subscription for Christmas (though they have paused their service) and there are underwear and sports wear subscriptions.

If it was me I'd get books from the Willoughby Book Club but clothes sounds lovely too.

leolion81 · 29/03/2020 10:28

Jesus who's have thought liking pyjamas of all things would cause such vitriol.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 29/03/2020 10:34

Sorry you got your parade and moment of joy pissed upon OP.

I can't help you. I do love a good pair of PJ's, but I am so fussy I could never do 'surprise' (but I'm guessing rejects could be gifted).

But if that would give you joy in this dark time then fucking GO FOR IT.

Maybe post this on Style and Beauty?

And thank you for your work in retail.

TheClitterati · 29/03/2020 10:59

I had a sock subscription for a while. Very nice!

RaininSummer · 29/03/2020 11:07

If it was quarterly maybe not so mad but monthly pjs?

LynetteScavo · 29/03/2020 11:16

I think I must be a massive control freak because I wouldn't want random PJs I hadn't chosen myself. However, 12 pairs of PJs does sound ace. DH would think I'd lost the plot. Grin
