agree it sounds gross and very much like a 'boys will be boys' kind of thing.

It's a boy thing. When DH was about 10 he dug up his little sisters' dead reabbit a month after it died - to get some good worms to go fishing with. To this day he cannot see what all the fuss was about.

I must have a gross dd, then. She once found a dead fox when we walking in the woods and couldn't resist poking it with a stick and turning it over to see what it looked like! (Not nice, for the record. ) I don't think she inflicted any GBH tho.....

children get fascinated by dead things, i always wanted to dig up my dead rabbit when i was little and have a look at it
