does anybody live around here? We are househunting and it looks nice - but are there any really good things (or really bad things!) to look out for? What are the 'well regarded' schools actually like and is it friendly? If you live nearby, what are other villages like? thanks!!

I think most of the village schools are fine (primary) - ours is lovely - ofsted report not great, but both DDs doing well. Roade School good for secondary. 99p Shop in Northampton is fab.

sorry, have been away from pc with sick dd.
So would you recommend northants (and this area specifically)? we have seen several houses within our price range (and lower encouragingly) that we're thinking of viewing this weekend. Is it friendly, why did you move there etc? Can't think of what to ask but want to know if its friendly, a community feel and lots of good stuff for families to do. good school are important as its one reason we are thinking of a move but also looking for an improved quality of life - like everyone! we live in a village now but its too expensive to be able to move anywhere
