I am fed up of them. i told them numerous times I was moving. cancelled my subscription

they stilld elivered a parcel to my old house

now i have CCS- Commercial Collection services chasing me. Shall i ignore the letter? They dont have my address and ignore me anyway when i phone or write

It really gets my goat [anger]

Its not Mango by any chance is it? If it is I could rant all day!!

What happenned to the parcel?

New2U · 05/10/2004 11:36

no it is books for children

i have no idea what has happened to the parcel

Knowing my buyers, they have sold it on e-bay to pay for new keys

Phone the CCS number on the letter and say that you did not order the goods, that you cancelled your subscription on XX date and do not owe any money to the company concerned. Or phone BFC and say the same, demanding that they sort this out with the debt agency

Don't ignore the letter as he new owners of your house will simply put them in touch with you if it gets to the "turning nasty" stage.

New2U · 05/10/2004 11:41

my buyers dont know where I live

i dont want to sort it out, i want the whole street to see 'their' bayliffs

But i will let 'inform' them

Think they are run by the same company in Swindon and they are a nightmare!!
God - hope you are not talking about me lol because I moved into a new house and am still getting parcels from this company for the old owners!!!!
Have u tried to e-mail the company?

JanH · 05/10/2004 11:43

You are definitely not liable but soupy is right, don't ignore it - although as it's your old address that has the problem (is your mail being forwarded by the PO?) it may well be the old address that has the probs. The parcel was delivered there and not forwarded so they can't go pointing the finger!

I used to get BFC years ago and they were crap then. Do you have any record of telling them you were moving? Letters or emails?

JanH · 05/10/2004 11:45

That was clear, wasn't it?

I mean if there are credit problems they will be attached to the old address. I think!

SoupDragon · 05/10/2004 11:46

How did you pay for your previous BFC purchases? Credit card which you've changed your address on? Cheque/debit card which gave them your bank details?

Sorry, but I think it's unecessarily nasty not to sort this out in the hope that it causes embarrassment to the new owners of your old house. Whatever they did, this would make you no better than them. If you don't want to sort it out, why post asking for advice?

New2U · 05/10/2004 11:53

ooooo soupy dont tell me off! my buyers have been very nasty to me, and I was only joking! Al;though I have to be honest and say i would laugh out loud at their faces, but that isnt allowed is it?!

jan, your post made perfect sense!

yes they do have my card details. i am so fed up with this book company.

yes my mail has been forwarded

What will happen to the parcel? it was sent in may

OP posts:
JanH · 05/10/2004 11:56

Your buyers should have returned it to the PO marked gone away or return to sender - do they use the PO though? Or a delivery firm?

Either way you're not liable for it. Contact BFC again and threaten to go to Watchdog or something.

New2U · 05/10/2004 12:00

I have just rang the credit company place and told them,

I moved out in april

I never ordered or received a gift

and i am not paying it

they are getting in touch with the book company. Does that sound okay?

JanH · 05/10/2004 12:02

Have you got the name of the person you spoke to? These things can drag on for ages. Did they say you would ring you back or write or what?

agy · 05/10/2004 12:03

If you receive unsolicited goods - which your buyers will have done - you have to inform the senders and tell them to collect. If they have not collected the goods after 6 months, they are yours. I would ignore tbh.

New2U · 05/10/2004 12:07

they said they would write

OP posts:
New2U · 05/10/2004 12:07

the buyers didnt tell me they had this parcel, they just mentioned lots of other insignificant things. Bitter moi?

OP posts:
JanH · 05/10/2004 12:09

OK, the ball's in their court anyway (scuse cliche!). Wait and see what they write - put on your calendar that you spoke to them today, so you can quote that at them later, and forget it for now!

New2U · 05/10/2004 12:09

sorry, keep forgetting to write things!

they use a delivery firm i think, janh.

They also said it was a commitment charge, which is a lie, i have been with them for 5 years! But i suppose its an excuse

OP posts:
JanH · 05/10/2004 12:10

btw dear, are you who I think you are?

New2U · 05/10/2004 12:10

OP posts:
JanH · 05/10/2004 12:17

I went looking for you - I'd heard you'd changed your name - didn't check far enough back, obv. Oooh I did feel silly!

Hope you have a nice meet eventually anyway.

I must catch you on msn some time and get an update (but not now, boring chores are calling!)

New2U · 05/10/2004 12:19
