My dds havent got a clue what they want, they are nearly 4 and 7. Id like some ideas to throw at them. What have your children decided they Must Have this year?

OP posts:
KangaMummy · 04/10/2004 11:37

DS 9 years star wars lego and star wars dvds and guiness book of records

zebra · 04/10/2004 11:38

The entire catalogue contents, Charliecat. Isn't that what they always want?

nutcracker · 04/10/2004 11:38

Right hang on, let me dig out the list....

Dd1...(will be 7 then)

Doll (from ELC)
Baby Annabel car seat
Ballet barre (toy one)
Bratz skates
Microphone head set thingy
Barbie outfit
Barbie soft toy horse

Dd2...(will be 5 then)

Doll (ELC)
Silvercross pushchair
Brabie skates
ELC Keyboard
Rc Racing car

Ds thankfully isn't old enough to give me a list

They will probably add more to those lists too. We will buy them about 4/5 thinhgs off the list and then relatives will get the rest.

DS (4) wants some wings so he can fly like Buzz Lightyear!

charliecatthenonsmoker · 04/10/2004 12:12

Aww they had buzz lighyear costumes in wollies going cheap last week...would that satify him or frustate him that he couldnt get off the ground?!

Skate · 04/10/2004 12:13

DS1 wants just about everything he sees in the shops, catalogues and on TV!! He's only 3.5!

charliecatthenonsmoker · 04/10/2004 12:13

that would be Woolies spelt properly!

AuntyQuated · 04/10/2004 12:29

when i asked my 2 -8 and 5, blank faces then "I don't know, you choose, mummy" hhmmm

enid · 04/10/2004 12:42

Lilydoll
dressing up costumes/jewellery
Loads of new pens and art and craft stuff (maybe that rainbow art thing that is on the tv)
Baby chou chou
sparkly shoes from Monsoon
cd player with headphones

dd2 (2)

Little people Funfair/train set
Dora the Explorer bath doll
mini trampoline
stuff for her dolls house

enid · 04/10/2004 12:44

ooh, and I forgot Magic Sand (for the 5 year old).

Actually dd1's list consists of a pony and a dog. She won't actually be getting either of these, however

Tortington · 04/10/2004 15:30

my son 14 wants a mobile phone AND something else - hes not decided yet. hmmmmm we'll see

my 11 year old boy wanted walkie talkies - we have got those and put them away - he also wants something else .hmmmm...we'll see

my daughter 11 wants to have internet access from her room - we have the puter and dh is sorting the technology - but am getting all eeeeeky and icckky about what she willa ctually have to open on the day - even though we will have spent the money- dya see what i mean?

any road up - we are doing the secret santa thing for the kids benefit this year. it was a suggestion from a mumsnetter ( thanks) and we picked names out of hats £10 max - this way the kids dont have to buy a pressie each for me dad and 2 bros or sis. they all excited about it my daughter immediatly got out the argos catalogue found somthing appropriate then without htinking said " dad dya think you will like that?" lol - she a numpty.

i picked dd as my secret santa - and was looking at those oxfam chickens - but sont know whether she will be disapointed. maybe i could adopt a pet or something - but a tenner doesnt go a long way to adopting pets - will have to do some research - i would rather that than something that will end up on her bedroom floor. hmmmm ...we'll see!

Grommit · 04/10/2004 15:43

DD (nearly 5) wants a tattoo kit she sees advertised on Boomerang. She assures me it is OK as it is only toy tattoos and has no needles!?!* She will not be getting it - I can just see the whole family spending christmas tattooed from head to foot!!

Hulababy · 04/10/2004 18:02

WE have just been trying to think about this over the weekend as people are starting to ask us for ideas. So I took DD (2.5yo) wiindow shopping in town to have some ideas from her as well. So far we have:

  • an easel
  • Happy Land things to add to some she has already; she fancies the airport, post office, church and wedding party, and station
  • ELC palace and figures
  • Gruffalo's Child
  • Aqua Draw
  • ballet bag
  • ELC pink telephone and answer machine
  • Disney Princess things

We have quite a big family so have to have plenty of ideas to go out. We normally buy what ever's left within reason.

Miaou · 04/10/2004 18:25

My dds have just seen the Toymaster catalogue. DD1 wants a jigsaw and a toy vet "shop" thingy. DD2 wants a baby born doll that goes in the bath. Argh! They are far too expensive . We have said that they may have to ask for money for Christmas to save up for them. My dad is hoping to make a dolls house for them as a surprise which I think will eclipse anything else they get.

jodee · 04/10/2004 18:29

Ds (4) says "please can I have that?" to every single toy that pops up in the adverts (apart from Barbie!). These things are usually forgotten about the next day, and I know he really craves:

Spiderman Absolutely Anything (especially a costume)

All the wooden Thomas range trains that he is missing (quite a lot)

Action Man truck (this I have, found at a boot sale!)

nikkim · 04/10/2004 18:53

I don't know will ask her in December!
