... well it is for charity! Hubby isn't too pleased though.

Just wanted to mention it here.... on Sunday 17th October I will be doing a freefall abseil down the Falkirk Wheel. All money raised is for the Anthony Nolan Bone Marrow Trust.

I was banking on being able to cop out at the last minute using my postnatal hormones as an excuse, but now the In-laws are travelling up from Liverpool to watch me!! Oh maaaaaagod!

Ho hum. There are about 100 of us doing to that day so I'll just have to take deep breaths and close my eyes. When did I turn into a blouse???? A few years ago I'd have been wondering why it couldn't be higher!

All the best Toothy, we will be on holiday at the time or I would have dragged DH and the kids down to see you. Very brave so soon after giving birth! [smile[

Toothache · 03/10/2004 22:40

Thanks Demented.... don't know if brave is the right word. I still might bottle-it! You'll see (hear) me running for the hills in a cloud of fear and hormones!

Good Luck Toothache. I have just done the Troassach Trek for Anthony Nolan and had a ball - but to be fair it did start and end in a pub!

Toothache · 03/10/2004 22:50

Muminamillion - It goes on all day and I'll just abseil whenever my number is called. It's a first come first 'fall' basis. I'm going up in the afternoon.

ohmagod ohmagod ohmagod

Aw now THAT sounds like more fun Gomez! AND would help get rid of my fat postnatal arse. I abseiled down the Wallace Monument in 2000 for Anthony Nolan again. That was BC (Before Children) and I was much more reckless and adventurous (for that read drunk) then.

Didn't do my fat ass any good I can assure you!

MUMINAMILLION · 03/10/2004 22:54

Toothache - I cant walk up the Wallace Monument - scared of heights - never mind abseil down it!! You are too brave for words! [respect emoticon]

Toothache · 03/10/2004 23:01

lol Gomez!

Muminamillion - After I'd walked up those stairs there was no waaaaaaaaaay I was walking back down them again!

Very brave of you! It our 1st anniversary tomorrow and we are just doing the normal going out to dinner!!!!! ZZZZZZZZZZZ How boring!

Toothache · 17/10/2004 21:19

I DID IT!! Wahey!!
How scary was that? I managed to raise a meagre £115 for the charity, but it all helps I s'pose.

NOBODY turned up in time to watch me!
And my video camera had a flat battery (we forgot to check it). So we have NO footage of my doing it.

It really pissed my off that my Mum didn't even get there in time.

Ah well.... I'm proud of me even if they aren't!

Never again! [wink}
