Just been reading the thread about believing in santa and it's left me feeling really festive!
Wondered if anyone would like to share their christmas traditions with me? It's the first christmas that ds2 will be aware of this year.He was only 3 months last christmas.DYING to see his little face when he sees the tree etc.

ds2 was 13.5 months last year and I don't think he really realised what was going on.

He loved the tree though!! It's a huge one that stands on the floor so by the time Christmas Day came, all my baubles were on the top half and the bottom was bare - cos he kept pulling them off!!

He enjoyed the day with all the relatives adn getting new toys but he didn't understand the Father Christmas thing or the nativity story (though we did it anyway cos ds1 was nearly 3).

Haven't read rest of thread yet but am wondering what DS will think of Christmas this year (he was 4 weeks last Christmas!)

DS1 was completely freaked out by Christmas at 20 months old. He found the sheer quantity of presents overwhelming and we had to give them to him one at a time over a long period to allow him to play with each one and wait til he was ready for the next.

DS2 had no such reservations and entered into the Christmas spirit with great gusto from 10 months old!

Has any one been to lakeland recently? They have got some lovely ..I can't describe them.they are panels that you put on the windows in your front door to make it look like you have stained glass.I thought it would look nice with light shining through at christmas.

Sounds nice Alexsmum.

I want to know how you do outdoor lights - how do you plug them in??

alexsmum · 10/10/2004 10:42

no idea skate.we have never been able to work that out and so have never had them!!

The wire for out outdoor lights comes in though the window (which can then be shut properly over the wire) and plugs in indoors. This won't work with all windows though! Ours are old wooden ones.

Hmmm, sounds a bit of a pain. Isn't it trailing up from the garden etc - suppose you'd have to 'stick' it up the wall of the house. Oh forget it!! I might just put some in the window!!
