6 year old needs football team - advice please!

Can anyone advise me on how to find a good little football club for my footie mad son!? I've looked at the local mini league, and the local church league, but don't really know what to look for or what the pitfalls may be? Anyone in the know?

6 is still quite young for 'proper' teams (unless he's showing amazing talent!)

• Are there any after-school clubs (they may be run by outside companies).
• Local sports centre may have indoor coaching?
• Other schools may let their facilities/ fields for football coaching?

Places to look for info include leisure centres/ libraries/ thefamilygrapevine (and other 'parent directories' - again look in the library, or local shops?

Around here the team stuff doesn't really kick in until Under 8s I think?
