Tell me I'm not the only one who's managed to forget they had a child!

For the record, I was once told that something comes away once a woman's baby is delivered - they call it the placenta but it's actually part of her brain. DS is 5 and a half weeks old.

Marketing phonecall the other night -

Caller - "Hello Ms ChubbyScotsBurd, do you have 3 minutes to spare for a brief survery about #some boring mortgage thing#?"
CSB - "ONLY if it takes no more than 3 minutes"
Caller - "OK, first can I ask you blah blah blah ... #etc for 3 minutes# ... finally, a few questions about your household. How many children under 16 live in your household?"
CSB - "None ... oh, no, hang on, I've had a baby!"
Caller - "snort ... snigger ... snort ..." #barely manages to thank me for my time before dissolving into guffawing laughter#

#sigh#

. Love the placenta/brain analogy.

I have done this before. Telesales person "How many children do you have?" Me "One. Hang on a minute - no actually two."

I have also at times 'inadvertently' knocked years off my age.

Left dd in a garden centre once. Came out, dh asked "where's the baby?". "What baby?" .

Too embarrassed to go back in myself - sent him
