I got sent my usual bill for this house, which was under £20, along with a red bill of £90 for my old house. (I moved 3 months back)
I have paid by direct debit for years, and never had any problems, so don't understand this.

why not give them a call?

Think I had better. I just wanted to know if this kind of thing has happened to anyone else.

southerwater currently have a backlog for lots and lots of months.

I know cause i have southern water for waste and posrtsmouth water for clean water.

I have recently changed to a meter and they want me to keep paying them £30 per month instead of £10 per month for 6 months while they clear their back log

put it this way after sept (when i will pay them) they will owe ME about £40 and ive no intention of paying THEM anymore until they sort it

WHY should i pay money i dont owe when they OWE ME?

That's awful, NannyL!

yes i know!

Its getting me quite cross actually!

Me thinking if they have a backlog with me they probably have you back logged somewhere in their system too

they just said to me keep paying and when we cath up we will refund you... well by Xmas they will owe me £100+ and I need that money then, not afterwards when they can be bothered!

made me laugh cause at the weekend on the radio i herd a southern water advert about how they are investing in their customer service and how quickly they answer their phones

I will get onto them first thing tomorrow morning, and try to find out what's going on. (DS's been fighting so much today, that I haven't had a quiet moment)
It's all a bit of a worry.
