PAEDOPHILE FATHER IN LAW - update from Horrifiedmum

Fantastic news that a child rapist is behind bars as of yesterday!

Some of you may recall me posting Sept/Oct last year following the news from my 2 sister in laws that they were abused most terribly (you name it he did it) from the age of 4 - 17.5

What a year its been. The police have been marvellous. The CPS bought the case - 28 counts of the most serious sexual offences on children imaginable. The trial started last week and thankfully the jury found him GUILTY.

Both of them were strong enough and brave enough to give evidence against this evil man. They were amazing and have been so strong. I will be forever thankful that they had the guts to tell after all these years (both in their forties now and neither knew about each other until last year!). They still thought they wouldn't be believed after all those years.

He is now in custody awaiting sentencing next week. Fingers crossed for a long sentence and more so that he comes out of prison in a coffin (after being abused and tormented himself - I'm not the forgiving type obviously). But no matter what he goes through nothing will compare to what they went through when they were just little girls.

I hope this gives hope to the many others that have been through anything similar. People will believe you. The police are on your side. Lots of people will support you (though some may not!) and it may bring you closer to some people too. Its never too late to report it.

handlemecarefully · 30/08/2007 22:33

I'm so glad there has been a positive resolution

horrifiedmum · 31/08/2007 20:25

Thanks, yes it is positive for me and my husband but the victims are understandably going through mixed emotions at the moment.

It will never leave them but we all hope this will give them some much deserved closure.

wonder what he is doing now

Whooosh · 02/09/2007 20:46

What brave women! What they did may well have save other innocents.....

KaySamuels · 02/09/2007 20:47

Fantastic - quite rightfully he will be drowning in fear right now knowing he is off to prison.

horrifiedmum · 05/09/2007 12:46

He was sentenced to 12 years total yesterday.

5 years for each of about 13 charges.
2 years each for 2 charges
12 years each for 12 (rape/buggery) charges

All to run concurrently (bit of a con!). Has to do 6 years before he can even be considered for parole. Hopefully he won't get it due to the seriousness of the crimes. He had no credit for remorse - he has never shown any!

I just hope the only way he comes out of prison is in a coffin.

Hulababy · 05/09/2007 12:50

Glad he got a lengthy sentence and is now finding himself imprisoned in a potentially unpleasant environment.

MrsMarvel · 05/09/2007 12:52

Oh fantastic!!!!!
Let's hope he is named and shamed too.
