me and dh were (trying!) to look this up tonight as its almost the beginning of the semester after ds has turned 3 and we were wondering where we can find info that outlines how this works...

(asking at ds's nursery is the next port of call, which would be on wedneday...) was hoping to find something here to look up tonight...

thanks

ChildcareLink

most nurseries do it. certainly the ones attached to schools do. a good starting point would be to look at the primary school you want him to go to.

Children's Info Service This should help.

Quick note - don't hold out that it is "free child care" they will get a 3 free sessions a week at aged 3 - a session is 2 and a half hours.

this is a good link

it's 5 sessions a week over 38 weeks (ie term time). but you can ask the nursery to put the sessions together so you can have a couple of full days, rather than just mornings or just afternoons.

You'll probably be able to use your 'free' sessions towards your DS's current nursery sessions. AFAIK it's five sessions (ie morning or afternoon) of two and a half hours, term-time only. Currently it's worth about £8.30 per session.

of course it's 5 sessions..... my DS finished his nursery education so long go (5 weeks), I've forgotten. Duh
