Keeping your child entertained in the car whilst driving

Many accidents on the roads are caused due to drivers being distracted.

One of the major distractions some drivers face is a child craving attention. This can cause a driver to lose concentration, take their eyes off the road and can increase the drivers stress levels.

Is this a problem you face having to drive whilst also keeping an eye on your child in the back seat?

What do you find most difficult about this situation and how do you keep your child entertained?

Have you ever had a crash due to being distracted in the car by your child, or had a near-miss?

are you doing a PhD on this?

are your writing an article or something?

No I'm currently researching problems parents have in the car when alone with their child. As I am studying a design degree and hope to find something that will answer their problems when their child needs entertaining which will hopefully also make driving safer.

If you could therefore assist in any way I would be very grateful.

i honestly think that in order to not be distracted at all by chidlren we need to travel in black cab tyoe cars where the driver si alone in the front and then cant pass chidlren stuff or sort out arguments etc

the chidlren can then be left to squabble / sleep / whatever in the back and the driver can remain undistracted.

No crashes, but 2 speeding tickets since ds (20 months). Before then had an unblemished driving record of 11 years!
