Well I think Victoria and David Beckham have surpassed themselves. For months they have had the media thinking they were to have a girl and call it Paris, when they have just had a boy and called him Romeo. I feel for the poor little thing. Can you imagine the mickey taking he'll have to deal with at school!

I love it - its top drawer Posh 'n Becks. Congrats to all of them.

Just thought, hope Posh isn't a Mumsnetter, she might be really hurt!

Chinchilla, on the C/S subject: I had an elective with DS2 due to damage in the bottom department during DS1's birth, also intermittent breech. There was no comparison - compared to the torture of DS, it was a walk in the park. I know it isn't as easy as that for some people, but for me, if there was to be a third child (which there won't be), it would be a C/S without a doubt. The recovery period was significantly less traumatic too.

I wasn't criticising anyone who did or did not have a cs. I was merely trying to ber fair to both parties, by saying that, if people did have one, it must be awful too. I have never had a cs, but have had surgery, and it took two weeks to heal even slightly.

I had an epidural, under duress I might add, and am mightily glad that I did, as it made what otherwise would have been a HORRENDOUS (for various reasons) experience bearable. I did have to have an episiotomy, which I have to say was ok, but I have heard some horror stories.

Sorry if I offended you in any way Droile. I have reread my post, and can't see how, but I know from other threads how things written can seem different to other readers. As I say, I was merely trying to put both sides to the argument.

Here's a Romeo joke - it was only a matter time, wasn't it?

Romeo Beckham was given his first chance to start for Manchester Juniors yesterday.
He reportedly turned to his dad and said "what number shirt should I go for dad"
David thought for a while before replying...... wait for it.

" Wear four out there Romeo"

Hi Chinchilla, you didn't offend me. I was just trying to be informative! Lots of people have said "OH no, how can having your stomach cut open possibly be better!" But compared to some things it can, and I was extremely fortunate in having a good C/S experience. I know it's hard to gauge the tone in cyberspace, but I wasn't offended. Honest! I have been during other threadings ......

Chinchilla, regarding your other surgery, I, too, had had surgery that hurt like hell before my C/S, so was amazed when it turned out as good as it did. Perhaps there is something peculiar to the healing of C/Sections.
