Birthday present, girl turning 11

Any ideas at all on a present for a girl turning 11?

She's emphatically not a 'tweenager' but not a tomboy either. Toys per se seem wrong for this age group. She does like clothes but also climbing, she plays the violin... A very Christian family which I tend to take into account too.
Thanks for any thoughts.

I tend to go for craft type things in these situations. Ones I have just bought include Paint Your Own Lamp and similar, cheaper, mugs . There are loads of things like this around. Otherwise nice pen and writing paper, books?

What about a poncho? - they seem to be the fashion item of the moment and what 11 year old girl doesn't want the latest thing? You won't have to worry about the fit either!

I remember wearing my multicoloured handknitted one about 25 years ago!! haha

I bet she reads a lot. Have a look at The Book People .

My soon-to-be 11 yr old has coerced dh into buying her a phone (she wouldn't gewt one from me but he's a soft touch!).
Tamagotcha-thingy - seems to have become popular again, bedside lamp, cd, pictures to see Princess diaries 2 (coming out mid-Oct) are other things she wants.
Poncho's a great idea though - or those yeti boots that are also back in again (I've still got mine from skiing 20 yrs ago so my dd will be "borrowing" those!!)
