im amazed at the sheer stupidity of some parents.
west midlands police over the past few days have been doing "spot checks" outside various schools and astoundingly heve issued lots of tickets to parents travelling with children not strapped in seatbelts.
8 - thats 8! children crammed into the back of one car ,
a grandfather driving his family to school with 5 kids on back seat and his daughter sat with an 18 month old on her lap on the front seat
loads of others along the same lines- are people really this stupid?
i shudder at the thought if there was an accident involving these, i was so angry watching it.

I hope this doens't sound racist... just that I used ot have Bangladeshi neighbours whom I liked, got on with, but they were terrible neglectful about carseats, would let the baby travel on back seat with no belt, several children crammed together, children on laps... in West Midlands, I'd be interested how many of the arrested parents were of non-white-British origin.

I was walking the tother day with DD in her pushchair. A car pulled up to the pavement really fast and a man got out. He was carrying a baby in his arms, no car seat at all. I was aghast. I really wanted to say something but he looked a bit rough so I just glared at him. He looked as if he didn't care at all and clearly thought what he did was none of my business. If he wants to risk his life, fine, he can suit himself, but to put a little baby in that position (presumably HIS baby) I thought was unacceptable. Perhaps he just thought, oh it's only a few yards down the road. Utterly selfish behaviour.
