Hello
My DS is 17 months old and so far has been an early teether. Lately he has been pretty horrendous - really hyped up and prone to amateur dramatics at the slightest thing. He has also been biting his fingers a lot. Thought maybe he is getting early second molars (has all the rest) but I can't see anything there and it seems very early from what I've read. Sound familiar?
Also, he's particularly stoppy with me (lucky me!) and lately won't even let me put a bib on him, among other things. Anyone else find they get the worst of the worst behaviour?

We are going through this at the moment with dd (20 months). She has been off her food for a about 6 days, puts her fingers in her mouth and says 'teeth hurting'. Calpol seems to help. She is usually sensible about meal times, but seems as though she doesn't quite know what do with herself. She says she wants a cuddle, then gets down immediately; says she wants me to hold her hand while going upstairs, then immediately refuses to move etc. I do hope it's just the teeth!

Oldiemum, you have a very early talker! Funnily enough, I think the communication thing is part of it. He is DESPERATE to tell me things at the moment. Wonder of that's part of what's happening....also that he expects me of all people to understand him best?
Flippin' hard though!

Yes, the communication thing is very frustrating for them. DD can say a lot, but we still sometimes find her desperately trying to tell us what she wants, but unable to convey quite what it is.

Good to know it's not too improbable. But it really is terrible at the moment. He falls apart at the slightest thing and I was up about five times last night. Mealtimes are awful - he throws food around and won't let me put a bib on him, although DH is always allowed to - and childminder. He is also just two weeks back into being with the childminder (3 days a week). I remember his brother slightly punishing me over this stuff as a baby...wonder if he's angry with me too?
any thoughts from anyone very gratefully received!
