.

In Morrisons yesterday with the DS's and a little girl came up to DS1 (7 in September) and said very cheerfully "Hello XXXX". He mumbled hello and turned away REALLY fast, with a very shy/embarassed smile on his face. When I asked who it was (as I didn't recognise her) he mumbled her name and before I had a chance to say anything else told me "I don't like her, I don't like girrrrrrrls, don't tell dad, pleeeeeeeeease don't tell dad"...(all with the same blushing look on his face mixed with smiles). I then managed to get out of him that she's a year below him at school.....but that he doesn't like her...

We saw quite a few people from school yesterday (including lots of the girls in his class) and didn't get that sort of reaction. So I've come to the conclusion that he definitely likes her......a LOT ,

Oh and she was an extrememly pretty little girl, who I'm guessing originates (or her parents/grandparents do) from China/Japan/Far East! .

aww - are you oriental then Queenofquotes ?

TheQueenOfQuotes · 31/07/2007 12:48

no Mary - I'm English (youre' "stereotypical" blond hair, blue eyes, pale skin), but DH is black Zimbabwean.

is there really a stereotype of englishness - you sound more aryan to me....

MaryAnnSingleton · 31/07/2007 12:52

oh, that explains the international flavour bit !!

TheQueenOfQuotes · 31/07/2007 12:53

well DH's family all think I'm the "typical" English woman

one of my sil's claims a bit of cherokee blood - she has dark-blond hair, grey-green eyes & very freckly skin .... and great cheek bones

TheQueenOfQuotes · 31/07/2007 13:09

I have to say he's got very good taste (better than his dad's...) as even before she said hello (so I knew that they knew each other) I'd already thought what a pretty girl she was

is your ds very good looking too ?

TheQueenOfQuotes · 31/07/2007 13:18

well I think so - but then I'm his mum so I'm bound to say that (that picture is nearly 1yr ago though....just the nicest one I could find off hand with a proper smile LOL)

I'm not sure which of the boys pictured is the son in question but it matters not as they are both lovely.

Thanks for sharing QofQ, this is soooooo lovely!

TheQueenOfQuotes · 31/07/2007 13:32

I thought it was really sweet too, mind you also a bit scary as it kind of drills home that DS1 is growing up......fancying girls and all that!

I know, my girls are three and evryday I realise that them being teenagers is just 'minutes' away and so I try and set my stall out accordingly. I don't know if DP has twigged the swift passage of time yet though, I see no evidence of him polishing his shot gun !

MaryAnnSingleton · 31/07/2007 14:09

ds is 10 and would be very embarrassed if a girl seemed to fancy him - he did confess to liking Billie Piper, but was so embarrassed that he had to write it on a piece of paper. He is beautiful though and I think girls will soon be noticing !

TheQueenOfQuotes · 31/07/2007 17:01

aww that's sweet Mary
