Has anyone got the new Baker Ross Christmas catalogue yet? I've got a £10 credit note, and a voucher valid til end of September, and I'm desperate to order all the Christmassy craft stuff ... but I haven't got the catalogue yet

bambi06 · 17/09/2004 21:24

why dont you check out details onlie and then you`ll all be ready when you do get it..i buy far too much stuff and go crazy deciding what NOT to buy!!!!

roisin · 17/09/2004 21:26

AQ - favouritism!

I hate their website though, it's so slow; I prefer flicking through the catalogue!

yes new stuff seems to be there

i fancy these

auntyquated · 17/09/2004 21:27

no not favouritism, just big spender

tamum · 17/09/2004 21:31

I got mine about 3 weeks ago, so that probably says a lot about me. I won't tell you how much I spent today either but suffice it to say I got the free gift

auntyquated · 17/09/2004 21:32

what type of thing do you buy Tanum?

tamum · 17/09/2004 21:38

Ummm- it would take a bit long to list, but I bought some of the angels you linked to! I bought a lot of stuff for the children to make Christmas presents for grandparents and so on (candles, tea-towels to decorate and things like that). At other times of year I use it more for party bag presents and general art stuff. How about you?

roisin · 17/09/2004 21:47

Just spent 10 mins on the website, and put £60 worth of stuff in my basket! Hmmmm... I think I'll wait for the catalogue.

card-making stuff for me plus things like this for the children

roisin - what do you buy?

roisin · 17/09/2004 21:58

I buy stuff for the kids; I noticed those book marks too - they look fun. I haven't seen these scratch art things before ... I have memories at school of creating the same effect with hours and hours of blister-creating work with coloured then black wax crayons ...?!

I like these colour in gift bags too, to put homemade cookies for Christmas prezzies.

I buy stuff for party bags, little presents, occasional 'educational stuff', plus craft materials for church, toddlers, and holiday club.

I'm their best customer ... SO HOW COME I HAVEN'T GOT A CATALOGUE YET?!

roisin- they have cuisannaire rods

SoupDragon · 18/09/2004 08:51

I love Baker Ross! I've mentall spent a fortune in their new catalogue already under the pretence of "thinking of things for toddler group".

auntyquated · 18/09/2004 08:56

i've just done a list called 'things i'd really like to order if money wasn't an issue and i can't have too many things'

price £70.34, but then i'd get £3 off if i ordered before the end of Sept plus some crappy free gift

SoupDragon · 18/09/2004 09:20

I think the website is worse because I go through it, adding stuff to my basket willy nilly and then just check out without really looking properly at the price and what I've ordered. My last order came in a huge box and I just looked at it and thought "WTF have I ordered??"

auntyquated · 18/09/2004 09:21

how much of it did you use sd?

SoupDragon · 18/09/2004 09:29

some of it...

Part of my problem is that I can't bear my children to doing the activity "right"! I have to literally sit on my hands to let them do it all themselves.

SoupDragon · 18/09/2004 09:30

I could run a preschool in my DSs playroom!

champs · 19/09/2004 01:58

oo oh!! have just visited the site.... knew I shouldn't have went!!
Tamum--- I have got the free gift too

helenmc · 19/09/2004 21:43

I get the free gift too - under the pretence of lucky dip for the christmas fete and my rainbows pack, and I haven't got my catalogue yet.

tamum · 19/09/2004 21:47

Oh good-o, I feel a bit better now. Even if I do have only 2 children and not even the excuse of playgroup or brownies or anything....

SoupDragon, I am so like that. I find it really difficult letting them do things wrong without just saying "here let me". It's a real struggle to let them do things their way, although obviously it gets easier as they get older and they get more competent!

stupidgirl · 19/09/2004 21:48

I got mine last week - I got 2 actually, so they obviously love me! I'm trying to reduce my order at the moment before sending it...

stupidgirl · 19/09/2004 21:49

Come to think of it Roisin, you can probably have my spare one, if that's any help?

tamum · 19/09/2004 21:49

Oh go on stupidgirl, you know you neeeeed all that stuff . You home-ed, don't you, which seems like a fairly fab excuse to me.

stupidgirl · 19/09/2004 22:01

Yeah, and lack of funds (my tax credits still haven't come through) is a good reason not to...
