Should 10 year old with no boobs get a gra?

My DD was desperate for a bra today as 5 friends at school have one (only 2 actually need one!)
I got her 2 crop tops that had bra like straps but they weren't what she wanted. They had no clip at the back.

heart stopped there as she just came into room and would die if she knew I was asking this <

Anyway - I remember my mum wouldn't let me get a bra until I actually needed one. I was so upset that other girls had bra straps and I didn't. So off we went to Asda where she tried on a 28AA bra which is actually OK on her. Her chest is completely flat .

Should I have told her no? Am I making her older than her years by letting her wear this piece of cotton with a clasp?

Mums of girls fill me in on this aspect of motherhood.

Why?????

Don't know. It is just not a word that is commonly used unless you are shouting something derogatory such as 'I can see you knickers' when trying to embarrass someone. (Childhood experience) Maybe other Scottich mumsnetters can add to this opinion. Could be an Ayrshire thing only

It's lovely to see you chatting, Mears, and not having you brains picked. Not that you mind, I'm sure

Doesn't get the work done though does it?

Mears, Im from Stirling and we never said knickers - considered to be a very bad word and yes, only to be used when shouting obscenities at people (which I never do ofcourse!) We say pants.

i think you did exactly the right thing - there is no harm in it and she feels like she fits in - which is so so important at that age. you were right
