so says our lovely Polish neighbour (lives across the road) who we met properly for the first time this afternoon. Dh went out to get something out of the car, and came back about 1 1/2hrs later telling me that Rsykard (spelled something like that - Richard in English) wanted to meet me.....we duly went across with the DS's and have been drinking Polish Vodka for much of the afternoon - who says them immigrants are a drain - they're lovely .

And yes go on shoot me now for being slightly tipsy (along with DH) and in charge of the 3 DS's.........mind you glad I'm not fully BF'ing now as DS3 would probably quite like the taste of that vodka LOL).

You sound like you've had a good afternoon! There's nothing like an inpromptu drink! So, what did he base his ideas on then? I quite like English men! Londoners particularly!

I'm not suprised! Vodka - in the afternoon! And you can bet they weren't pub measures either! (God, I sound old!)

actually I didn't fall asleep under the table - I went to the Chippy to buy us all Fish and Chips for dinner (there was no way I was going to masacre the nice pieces of chicken I was going to cook after a few drinks LOL). Actualy they were nice normal measures (he's got black permanent marker lines on his tumblers to make sure it's 'served out' equally ) and delicious Vodka - one of those rare moments when you wish you didn't have little children to look after or you'd have had more than just 4 (or was it 5 ) shots .

As for his reasons - not sure really - although he speaks fluent Polish, Russian, French and German his English is still pretty basic (DH is starting to speak quite decent Polish now so communicated fine, I still have some rusty German so there was Polish, English and German all in the same sentence at times LOL).

Thankfully I've now had a good fish and chip supper which has soaked up some of the booze (all I'd have before those drinks was a bowl of rice crispies and an Elevenses Bar ) - so I'm at home with the kids and DH has been dragged back over to his house for more booze (apologising profusely to me as he left.........I told him to go and enjoy himself).

Actually it was quite funny talking to him with his broken English, he was working really hard to say what he meant, but interspersed with it and teh Polish was the occasional "shite" (in reference to Bush LOL) and "f* off" .

oh and I've just remembered one reason he said they were eejits.....

They drink and smoke all their money away instead of looking after their family (or something along those lines....he kept saying DH was a "top man" as he helped with the children, had a job, a house and car" )
