They may be thinking who RSVP is?

Although I would blame it in simple old age forgetfulness.

MaureenMLove · 27/07/2007 14:47

What are you going to do then? You probably haven't got time to ring around have you?

starshaker · 27/07/2007 14:50

OrmIrian · 27/07/2007 14:51

It is annoying - we put those (possibly tacky) but helpful "response" cards in our wedding invites to make sure that peoples rsvp'd us. Bit late for that I guess. Could you email the stragglers? Say something like,

"Hoping that you are able to come, please let us know so that we can confirm with our caterers" or something to that effect.

Your party

"Really Sounds Very Pleasant"

though

Hope you get the responses.

mm22bys · 27/07/2007 15:45

No as somebody else said it's not because they can't speak French, but because they are rude. You should not have to chase them up, either. A 50th is a big deal, people should recognise that, and should at least acknowledge your very kind invitation!

EscapeFrom · 27/07/2007 15:47

They think the letter is from someone called Roservup, that's why.

barbamama · 27/07/2007 15:47

I know this has been said already but it is becasue they are rude, plain and simple. I don't necessarily expect a written reply but everyone is capable of a phonecall or email.

Charlie999 · 27/07/2007 15:51

Makes me so - its so bloody rude.

This happened when I got married - its no fun ringing around saying (mainly to family) "are you coming to my wedding or not" only I have to pay if you are.....one couple said yes, then just didn't turn up

Takes all sorts doesn't it.....

starshaker · 28/07/2007 18:33

well dp has been told if i dont know in 2 weeks time they wont be coming and if they turn up they will be told tough

Imawurzel · 28/07/2007 18:42

I had that charlie99. We took a guess in the end. Made buffet for at least 10 extra poeple. For the main do bit (after wedding) there were 2-3 tables that seated 10 people and they must have had 4-5 on each!!
It is rude that they don't reply.
Some of the missing people said they were coming too!!!
