Sounds like a nightmare scenario! I would cancel and go again in a month or so. Could you find another campsite? There have been lots of good ideas on here.

I think I'd drop out of the camping trip, and invite the BIL and girlfriend to my house instead!

I'd cancel and point out to the other family members that the idea was for the 3 of you to have a quiet holiday together and pop in and see BIL & gf a couple of times whilst you were up there not to initiate a huge family get together!
