What is the best car seat for my 2.5 year old?

My dd is forever getting her arms out of her car seat, so i think the next stage up would be better for her. She still needs the harness but perhaps a more 90 degree angle car seat would be better. Any ideas?

I would be more worried about her taking her arms out than the actual seat model itself-
my friend told me the following approach which worked a dream - normally we use the naughty step, time out etc for bad behaviour but the car seat thing is the one exception
on the two occasions my son took his arms out of his seat I yelled at him like a woman posessed - it was hard when I saw how upset he was but then figured that it was nothing compared to the distress of a car accident

he was so shocked by mummy turning into a monster he has never done it since (and he is quite mischevious)

I guess you could try a stage 1-2-3 seat like the Britax Evolva 123 Ultra...

won't she just escape fron the next size up?

you can get a thing that holds the seat belts togehter so they can't escape...have just looked on gltc, urchin and blooming marvellous, but can't see it...someone here will knwo what I mean!

Go in Mothercare and they will help you for the correct carseat for your child.

To be honest I think all the car seats that go from 9mths -11yrs are supposed to be a bit naff. Probably better getting her one of those grip things that make it impossible to get her arms out.

We have an Evolva 123 but it probably won't help keep her arms in if she's determined. I assume you are doing the harness as tight as is possible and have the shoulder part at the right height. Sometimes raising it can help as they don't have the same slack behind their shoulders.
