Thats it really - they are rude, badly behaved, have no manners (general or table) and really could do with going on Little Angels or Super Nanny to sort them out - I am actually getting to the stage where I can't but help show just how disgusted I am and am not seeing my freinds as much as I used to - am also slightly concerned about DD spending time with kids like this and seeing what they get away with.

I am also sure that certain people think I am too strict with DD and she has no fun in her life as I try to get her to behave and be a nice chilkd rather than a tantrumy little brat who screams at the slightest thing and is constantly rude and sneaky!!

So what do I do - try and hide the fact that I hate these kids or try and find some new friends??

You sound like me with my sisters boys!

They have no manners,(2+3), they break dd's toys, swear, have tantrums every five minutes, the other day the eldest gouged his mams face as he couldn't get his own way.

I too think they all think i am very strict with dd, she has lots of fun but also knows how to say please and thankyou and behave nicely, (MOST of the time, i'm not saying she's an angel nor would i want her to be- she's 3!!).

I would just try to distance yourself a bit.

Twinkie, I know how you feel.

Close friend/neighbour, who I like very much and has helped me over the past few years, has kids similar ages to mine (6 and 3). Hers are incredibly competitive, have to go first all the time or they scream, and boast about so many insignificant things even to adults. It has got to the point where dh and I are having to stop ourselves putting them down each time. Their mother never seems to bring herself to say no to their whims because she can't face their fuss and has a rather more relaxed idea of discipline and behaviour. Generally we and our kids get on well with each other and that usually outweighs my frustrations though.

Tricky one - my cousin (4) is an angel when with me and DH but turns into the brat from hell when her mum is around, throws tantrums, screams, kicks, gets her own way etc.
She knows full well that throwing wobblers won't wash with me but in front of her mum anything goes. I never know what to say either - don't want to tell her off when her mum's in the room, would feel rude, but don't want her to get away with being so naughty either.
I try to ignore her when she's bing like that and just praise her when she's polite and nice, and remind her that she's so good when out with me that she should be good for mummy too. It's soooo hard!

Well it seems it is just not me then - they are just yucky kids - have no table mannres at all and will pick up a burger and eat the cheese off of the burger with their mouth at the table - something DD would never dream of doing, they make such a noise if anything does not go their way - I literally would expect to see blood if DD made such a noise bcause she wouldn't for any other reason than being seriously injured, they are sneaky - telling DD to do bad things behind my back - luckily DD knows she is not allowed to and tells me what they have said, they lie about anything you ask them and the way they look at you when you tell them they can't do something (because they don't dare argue with me) makes me want to smack then!! They have no idea about sharing or letting someone take their turn - god it goes on and on - I know one of them is the way they are because they get next to no attention from their parents but I just can't stand spending any time with them and hate DD to see that others can get away with this behaviour!!

Maybe its worse cause I am so heavily pregnant at the moment but I really don't think I am going to be able to see them again until after I have had this baby for fear of just getting up and walking out and driving home without saying anything or either saying for gods sake what sort of children are you bringing up - and I am taking about a long friendship that I would rather have than blow up!!
