just been to see my ds (age 4) nursery's assembly. the second they all started filing onto the stage i just lost it! my eyes started watering, lump in my throat etc and when they started to SING...well it was all i could do to stop myself blubbing like a baby!
Im not normally a wimpy, weedy wuss but i dont know what happened to me. god, how embarrassing though. i was trying to glance around to check nobody could see me. nobody else was in this state. please tell me im not the only idiot who reacts like this at their dc's assemblies / school plays etc

I'm the same - it's dd's this afternoon (she's in year 1) and I know I shall cry my eyes out.

It was the singing that really got to me the first time I saw a school performance ... and those innocent little high-pitched voices still get me every time!

It doesn't get any better! My dd is leaving Primary school the week after next - I am dreading the Laevers' assembly!
