Is there any place other than Clarks to buy well fitted shoes for DS (14 months)?

Clarks had sold out of summer shoes in DSs size (4G) and were starting to stock winter shoes (!?!) so I am trying to find soewhere that does good toddler shoes for DS, but everywhere seems to not have the width (ie. adams online had a nice pair of sandals but only in 4, no width). Is it nessesary (can't spell that word) to have 100% fitrted shoes? (I thought it was, but only Clarks seem to be as accurate).

Startrite are very good, slightly more expensive than Clarkes and the sizes come up differently so get measured rather than buy over the net.

Do they have shops? I thought they were a brand of shoe that Clarks did... I was looking for them. Thanks

Start Rite are at Jones the bootmaker - usually get those for ds,in fact his first pair were Start Rite -

oh, thanks I have bought this months shoes but when he grows again (ie. in 4 weeks) I will pop to Jones'. Never knew they did baby shoes They do proper fitting and sizes, yes?

actually,come to think of it, we got his baby shoes from a Russell and Bromley - we get his Start Rites now (he's 10 !) at Jones or a local independent shoe shop - I really like the independent shoe shops as they specialise in children's shoes and always measure really well in my experience.

oooh, see I never knew any other place other than clarks did toddler shoes (wally!). I'll try jones', debenhams and look for some decent independant shoe shops (our town only has Clarks so will try Reading)
