Hi,
You may remember from a month or so back several threads posted about SS being called by pre-school and us reporting them.
In a nutshell bruises occured whilst son was in their care, I was not satisfied with the internal investigation and asked what the complaints produres are. My son then experienced similar bruises whilst on holiday, again bruising playing with another child.
Returning to school they reported us to ss, who came out and after 15/20 mins determined no action needed to be taken.
The history with the pre-school has been long, ie assessments were nothing was found, behaviour a direct result their handling of him, not being firm and him running riot etc etc.
We strongly feel the call to SS was to "cover their backs" as they knew we were not happy about a number of things. We had a meeting with the school leader who confirmed she had no other reason to suspect anything other than the 2 seperate bruises within 4-6 weeks of each other.
It wasn't until we spoke to a family friend who also runs her own pre-school who advised that a number of things didn't add up or if her opinion procedures were not followed.
She believes that we should of had a call from the pre-school before they contacted SS rather than 4 days after the event.
She finds it very hard to believe that because of where the bruises were (ie not obvious places to show abuse) that after only 2 incidents SS were called, especially as there was no change in his behaviour.
What I am actually looking for, is details of the area child protection policy. I have contact local council and the person who can help me is off on holiday for 3 weeks. I have tried to look on the internet but its a minefield.
Also the pre-school allowed children to wander out at end of session to see if their parent was there and monitored them to see if they came back, is this allowed without permission.
I know they started this in relation to someone actually wandering out and myself and another mum having to take the child back in.
Anyone that can give me any information would be great, as would like to get this letter posted before the end of the month when our child protection officer is back.
TIA
