How much do you pay for toddler groups?

Is it just me or do they seem to be getting really expensive. I currently pay about £3.50 to £4.00 for some groups that DD goes to which to me seems very reasonable. They last for a good amount of time (1hr to 1hr 30 mins), there are refreshments and the activities are really varied etc etc.

But today I went to a pregnancy/baby fair type thing and some of the people advertising their groups there seemed to have ridiculous prices ie £6 to £7 a session and you have to book and pay for a certain amount of sessions all at once (and if you miss a session you don't get to make them up), I thought that seemed really unreasonable for what were only 30 to 45min sessions doing the same thing we do at this other group.

But then I might just be being tight? so what does everybody else pay for these type of groups ie treasure baskets, art and crafts etc

ah..gotcha!
No you can't carry tumbletots over but DD loves it so much we have only missed 2 in 2 and a half years when she had chicken pox! We get the value out of the t shirt which she sleeps in whenever she gets the chance...

and you do get the free DVD which is worth its weight in gold

to put the other side, cos I'm looking into doing one of these expensive group thingies, the church hall ones are different cos volunteers, public liability insurance covered by church anyway, funded by church if nec etc but with a private group you have to pay to hire the hall, even if noone turns up, pay for your insurance, pension, fees to franchise if franchising etc and hope to turn a profit out of it.

oh and i forgot to say that for the first 2 years DH took DD to tumbletots...now that is worth more than £78 per term!

If you miss a tumbletots session you can make it up at another group within the same area, as long as they have a space available on the day you want to go.

We pay about £5 for 45 mins at TT, but regular toddler groups are either £1 (no snack) or £1.50 (with snack).

£1 inc snacks and painting/occasional crafts. It's only in the last 2-3 years that's it's gone up from 70p!

one i go to at a church hall is 50p per group. amother one is in a community hall and costs £1.50 per group. both have a variety of different toys and activities and both include drinks and biscuits for all! i would not pay anything over about £3 unless it had rave reviews and even then it would have to be bloody fantastic!

Just had a peek at the tumbletots website and have to agree with filly jonk - I can't believe there are people who pay for what we just had a good session of for free in the park!
