My niece. I'm stumped. I normally get books, but now she reads so much that I can't keep up with what she has and hasn't read, and her likes and dislikes. A book token seems too impersonal.

SIL says she doesn't need anything, which may well be true, but I still want to get something.

Niece, when asked, says she wants a hamster. I'm not geting one of those.

My dd has a Princess Max which she likes using. It has a pet on it that you feed along with games and stuff.

You can get them in Woolworths or here in argos www.argos.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?jspStoreDir=argos&params=PPC&referre dURL=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.argos.co.uk%2Fwebapp%2Fwcs%2Fstores%2Fservlet%2FProductDisplay%3FstoreId%3D100 01%26langId%3D-1%26partNumber%3D3523405&keyword=%28princess+max%29&langId=-1&referrer=GG05X&engine=a dwords%217513&match_type=&partNumber=3523405&storeId=10001

What about bindeez

Gingermonkey · 28/06/2007 13:09

My DD has an obsession with these colouring/drawing books here. She likes it when I get her a set of books for drawing, some nice colouring pencils and bits and bobs, put them all in a nice box or tie up with ribbon.

Clothing things? - what about a pretty top? People have occasionally given dd clothing-type things (memorably some fabulous rose-print wellies) which I wouldn't have spotted & they've always been a big success.

Subscription to a magazine also a good idea for a big reader - see here.

Ooh yes, wellies . Available in any cheapo shoe shop, too.

Thanks everyone. I bought her a lovely top from Monsoon (well I think it is lovely).
