I won a buzz lightyear costume for ds1 on ebay last week.
As the seller didnt accept paypal and i wanted the item quick for his birthday on sat he agreed to accept £36.50 cash, so i sent it on Sat first class recorded. As the seller is saying the cash still hasnt arrived i rang the number on the back of the recorded del. slip tonight. It says if i speak to a customer services advisor to check if my letter has arrived i will be charged £2.70 !
I am p**d off as i already paid extra for recorded (signed for ) delivery !
Apparently you can check for free on the web but all it says it that i cant trace an item until it has arrived ! So i take it it really hasnt arrived.
Anyhow , apart from having to make a mad dash to the disney store(this outfit will prob end up costing me £100 ! ) can i claim for the money i sent which didn`t arrive ?
Many thanks and soz its so long x

No - sorry but they state that they do not pay compensation for cash...sorry

It is very likely it is waiting at the post office for her after a 'failed' delivery. I had one like that where posties forgot to put the slip through the door.

I would definitely ring and talk to someone. Get another number off royal mail online - am very surprised at the £2.70

And you definitely can't claim for cash. Sorry

I often have 'recorded delivery' letters put through the door when we have been out and therefore no one has signed for them!!!! Hopefully your ebay seller is telling the truth and no pulling a fast one. Hope you get it sorted and your ds enjoys his birthday.
