The Sainsbury's/Tesco version of Kitkats are OK.

Nestle don't do anything that other baby milk companies don't do: they're all bastards. But they were bigger bastards and they stopped because of the bad publicity / boycott - arguably more because of the bad publicity.

I think other campaigns like the one that Hunker posted are more effective in the long term.

but anyway. rowtrees aren't all that. Shreddies are lovely though.

I have just been to caribbean and become completely absorbed by the whole anti slavery movement where odds were seemingly insurmountable (because of enormous amounts of money and stake) but it bloody happened.

I still think it's worthwhile. I too have been boycotting Nestle for over 10 years and for me it would still be worthwhile even as a personal gesture.

I actually don't think there is much awareness - I'm always surprised how few people I meet in real-life seem to know about the boycott. So it's worth doing just to spread the word a little.

Could we perhaps buy San Pellegrino as a collective? Could Mumsnet become a global conglomerate? Don't see why not. I miss KitKats too, especially chunky ones, and I've never had a white chunky kitkat in my life. What makes them so damn nice anyway? Is it a special recipe or something?

Pru, I think the boycott does have repercussions for N***. I'm pretty sure somewhere on the BabyMilk Action site it says how much money they have had to spend over the years to counteract all the effects of the boycott and the bad publicity it engenders.
