Advice wanted re National insurance query

Had my bag snatched today by some kids in Tescos . Have reported it to the police, but don't expect to hear anything again. Just now looking for some advice on replacing some of my cards.

My national insurance card is gone. Do I need to let anyone know, and do I need a replacement? If so, who do I need to contact?

Also, I have a maternity exemption form so that I do not have to pay for prescriptions, as DD is 7 months old. Will they replace this, and does anyone know who I contact?

Grateful for any advice - it has been a stressful day.

On my Nat Ins card it says to contact your local social security office if the card gets lost. I assume they will issue you with a new one as I got a new one issued when I got married and changed my surname.

Re: the maternity exemption certificate, it is issued by the local health board. Maybe your health visitor would be able to find out how to get a new one (mine is an NHS Scotland one so the address on it may not be relevant to you)

Maternity exemption cards : if yours is lost/stolen/damaged write/e-mail us for replacement. say what happened and qoute your full name,DOB,certificate number and nhs number if possible. Alternatively you can order a replacement certificate by calling our enquiry line on 0845 601 8076. (i just got mine and the letter is still sat by computer.

Oh and it says while you are waiting you can still sign the back of prescription form to say that you do not have to pay.
