It was my fault so I'm really only posting this to get it off my chest.

Basically, I pulled out of a junction with parked cars either side and didn't see her coming so with a big > her passenger side light/bumper/wing is totally done. We were quite lucky as it's only our light and indicator that gone.
The lady was lovely and as neither of us knew what we had to do a taxi driver stopped to help us out. He checked DS2 was ok and she wasn't at all angry. Bless them both.

First time I've had an accident since passing my test at 17 yrs old but it's really shook me up. DH didn't help much, he was more concerned about the car than us and didn't even ask if we were OK. Not especially pleased with myself for being such an idiot or him for being such a B*stard.

Thanks for reading, gonna make chocolate cakes later with kids so will feel better once we've ate them all.

Don't beat yourself up you're all ok so think of it as a lucky escape. Enjoy the cakes and give Ds a big hug.

Hope the choc cake take away the shock - loads of choc icing should do it!!!

Papillon · 27/08/2004 13:44

here is a cake from the Yurt to cheer u up

glad that you are okay and the person that you bumped into was lovely

bran · 27/08/2004 13:45

Don't worry about it as long as no-one was hurt, cars are just ugly lumps of metal and that's what insurance is for.

Enjoy the chocolate cakes (I've been off chocolate for FOUR weeks, and I've only just regained enough self-control to be able to type the word , a car crash is looking like a very attractive excuse ).

Papillon · 27/08/2004 13:47

LOL Bran... take a bus for the next 4 days to avoid a slip of a wrist and a choccy excuse!!

serenequeen · 27/08/2004 13:55

thank goodness you were all ok - hope the chocolate cakes work their anti stress magic.

I drove into a bus a month ago and wrote off dp's car completely (no one was hurt). It was totally my fault. To make it worse it was jsut outside the place I was about to start new job. The bus driver was really nice about it and a nice man stopped to say he had accident which blocked off an entire carriageway for half a day once. It happens. Don't feel too bad you may feel shaky next time you go out but you have a good track record. Everyone does daft things is allowed the odd lapse. Bet dh was concerned but if anyting like my dp woudl focus on practical things (ie car damage) rather than emotional (are you OK type thing)

emmatmg · 27/08/2004 14:15

bran
Papillion, what types of cake do you have in a Yurt?
Pamina3 as you're on a diet I will have 3 cakes as your name suggest, just for you

Thanks to you everyone for reading.

Rest assured ladies I will have several medisinal(sp?) choccy cakes on all of your behalf.

Have got a banging headache now so really feeling shit about it all

glad no one was hurt emmatmg, please take it easy as it must have been a shock (esp as u have headache) wild is bound to be right re:your dh, men are logical creatures by nature. Tell him to feed you said choccie cakes while you lounge in bath/bed/sofa for his unsensitivity!!

emmatmg · 27/08/2004 14:46

No chance of that champs, he's gone to work now, which I'm pleased about as he'd only be huffing and puffing around allday.

Bless DS2, inemmediatley on impact he shouted "Mummy, that did make me jump, that lady is very naughty"

We;re waiting for my friend and her 2 children to arrive before the cake making begins. My poor kitchen will no doubt look like a bomb site but who cares.

Hope you are feeling a bit better emma, and glad to hear you are all okay. That's the main thing - everything else can be repaired.

Take care.
