I am home earlier than I thought I would be. dd is having tea at a friends, ds is booked into the nursery for tea. Do I pick him up now as he would prefer, or leave him there till the time I've paid for?

How's that for a long thread title! Yes it was purpose, I could have written all that in my thread but I chose to piss you all off!

So, ds doesn't like the nursery and I know I should use this time to spend a bit of one-to-one with him. But then again I've paid for him there until 5pm and he'll get his tea there, save me cooking for him. So do I spend this time on Mumsnet chilling, or do I go and get him?

But I need time to chill!

He'll be getting a nice tea. But I do feel guilty cause he'd want to come home.

How much doesn't he like the nursery? Has he only just started? How old is he? if it's a settling in kind of not liking it, I'd leave him. If he really hates it but you have no other childcare options, I'd go and get him and sod the money.

Pick him up bless him. Or am I too late?

Rhubarb · 12/06/2007 15:52

He's 3. He doesn't like going, always prefers to stay with me. He's a bit clingy, a bit of a mummy's boy. He goes 4 days a week 9 till 3.30 so I feel a bit guilty when I have to put him in for extra hours.

Then again it's very rare I get all this time, no kids, no dh, to finish a cup of tea and Mumsnet with no interruptions!

Stay here - he needs to be away from you sometimes.

Ok then! Ta.

I picked him up at 4.30 btw. Now he is watching CBeebies whilst I Mumsnet.

Oh yes, I am a very good mum!

I do keep skipping over and hugging him though, cause did I say? I GOT THE BLARDY JOB!
