Our cat darent go in the garden in springtime, as she know what will happen to her if our (male) rabbit can catch her, (the dirty horror!). I had a netherland once, it was a vicious and used to attack my feet.

My rabbit now tho is lovely - a great big pedigree chincilla breed from an animal sanctuary.

Does not like being handled though. He lives with two male guinea pigs who fuss him to death. I sometimes think I'd like to swap lives with him, he has a great time! He's in hutch in the garden but they all have the run of the garden all day then in hutch at night.

And of course, rabbits are my namesake..

your rabbits are called binkle and flip? great names. Mine is called biscuit, cos he's ginger and got nuts...is nuts...IS nuts i mean

Hmm, I should be grateful, then, that our netherland dwarfs aren't actually viscious? One likes being stroked as long as she isn't picked up. The other doesn't want to be touched.

Still v cute, though. And entertaining - I like it when they chase each other. And climb. They have a set of IKEA shelves in the shed, and often climb up onto the 3rd shelf, and leap down - about 3'6"!

all rabbits have different temperaments, though i've found the nicest bunny to be a neutered male.

i have three females and they absolutely love to be stroked but hate to be picked up.

my other best bun was an unneutered male who used to shag my leg all the time and follow me around grunting. but he was a great rabbit.

i suppose if they are neutered/speyed they will be more comfortable. and tamer

My male rabbit's neutured, doesn't seem to stop him trying though!

lorca · 14/06/2007 14:13

I love it when biscuit comes in the house - he kicks up his heels and has a mad 5 minutes. And he's not neutered so he smells sometimes. He has a favourite greeen cushion he tries it on with.

southeastastra · 14/06/2007 14:16

guess some rabbits can't help their natural urges, neutered or not!

my rabbit used to have a peter rabbit soft toy as his 'special friend'

binkleandflip · 14/06/2007 14:29

Well, he also tries it on with the guinea pigs, but they're much too fast for him, I can hear them scuttling round the garden squeaking . They spend all night cuddling up together and grooming tho - usually with the two guineas led across rabbits back and between his ears - it's so cute, I love 'our boys'!

I've been advised to get our two females neutered. They are just over 6 months old, try and shag each other in a v unladylike manner all the time, and often push their bedding around and carry it around in their mouths in a way that apparantly marks them out as broody. Poor things.

WestCountryLass · 14/06/2007 21:21

My rabbit is a white mini-lopcalled Arthur, he has a great nature and we haven't had him neutered. Just went to feed my neighbours rabbit and he savaged me when I went to get his food bowl out but he has a small run and hardly any contact, poor thing
