Is Ackworth a good place to live?

Just that really. I want to find the ideal location to settle. We work near bradford (but don’t want to live there) so need somewhere commutable and with good primary schools. I have 2 under 5 so just starting out on school journey.

Should probably say I’ll be renting. Up to £850 pm preferrably.

It’s a place where I would never consider paying that much for rent tbh. It’s a bit of a funny place in so much as it is surrounded by old mining villages which have barely recovered from the closures but are now becoming commuter towns & it has a rep for residents thinking that they’re better than anyone else nearby.

Sowerby Bridge / Hipperholme & places over Halifax way would be a nicer commute & the rental cost would be more reflective of the price.

The commute along the M62 in rush hour is horrible.

I lived for a year in Ackworth and loved it. Close enough for Leeds/Bradford and Wakefield but nice to live in the countryside.

Beautiful place!!

And yes be awake of lots of country roads, windy bends and lots of fields, countryside walk parks like winterset etc and lots of farms. There really are some lovely sights though.
