Edinburgh wedding - where to find childcare

Hey all! Not sure if this is the right section to ask, but basically we're going to a wedding next year up near Edinburgh. It's a kids free wedding, which I don't have any problem with. Question is where is the best place to look for childcare for the day / eve?
The couple getting married will ask around their friends for recommendations for someone but failing that I'm just trying to get a plan B in place. Any ideas? Thank you!

A kids free wedding, never heard of such a thing, whats their reason. If you really want to go can't the kiddies stay with family or your own friends while you go. Were you planning to take the kids with you but not to the wedding or reception.

We'll be travelling up from London so we were going to take DS with us and then spend a few days travelling around Scotland with him post wedding. Both out families are either abroad or too elderly to look after him.

whereabouts in Scotland is the wedding, I know parts of it well, how old is he. If there are lots of children who would normally be going to the wedding would the couple consider hiring a separate hall/party for them.

You could stay in a hotel which has a kids club if he'd be happy to spend the day there and some hotels have a night sitting service for children.

@HoleyCoMoley thanks. It's in West Edinburgh - haven't been told exact venue yet just had save the date through. I just started looking at hotels with kids clubs. There seem to be quite a few of them, so will go with the higher rated options.

Think we found my plan B, thank you!!

Approach a local nursery and ask if any of their staff or students would baby sit in your hotel room?

Have you looked at the travelforkids website, they give details of hotels that are child friendly, have babysitting services.

@holey why do they need a reason?
