We are debating whether or not to go to Homebase today..........

DP & I thought we might pop to Homebase today (we are searching for wallpaper that we both like!) as it is raining cats and dogs here so our outdoor plans are scuppered.

Please tell me Homebase will be nice and quiet and we won't have to wrestle for wallpaper rolls with other cabin-fevered parents? No-one goes to DIY stores on a bank holiday, right?

Take heart. It won't be as bad as Ikea...

You're entirely correct.

Museums and shopping centres will also be deserted.

Sure as I'm surfing this here wave.

We are saved.

It is now hailing and none of us want to go out in that.

We are going to play jenga instead

Well am pleasantly surprised becuase we drove into Westminster this afternoon, parked (for free) just off Parliament Square and spent a leisurely 90 minutes in the Cabinet War Rooms, which were not packed (possibly becuase it was around 4 when we got there and the hoards had already gone).

There is something terribly satisfying about being able to park for free on the street in Central London. Perfect for me given my baby-due-last-week condition.
