Teddy bear lost in *Finchley* filling station!

At 5,00pm on Sunday 27 May we lost a small beenie like teddy at the Esso Petrol station at the junction of Finchley Road and Hendon Way. We only realised when we reached Nottingham and we are on our way home to Scotland. Brutus is the class teddy and has been all over the world. Last Easter he went skiing and he would like to make it back to school after the half term holiday.

My 10yr old daughter has cried herself to sleep. Tomorrow we must seek a replacement.

We have tried to contact the garage, but the telephone does not accept incoming calls! Must we wait until a letter arrives on Wednesday or should we seek a replacement tomorrow?

If anyone was passing, or filling their car with petrol at the Esso Garage on the corner with the steep hill, any chance you could see if Brutus has been handed in?

Mary Mary Mary (quite contrary!)

Hi can't help but bumping for you - can anyone help?

VeniVidiVickiQV · 27/05/2007 23:16

have you got a photo? it might be easier for folk to track down a replacement.

It has happened a few times before now on MN.

Hi, I called in last night on my way back from the Sound of Music, alas no joy

I insisted the chap look everywhere, drawers, cupboards under the counter. I think he though I was mad, but he didn't find anything -

Hello. My sister popped in and asked if it had been found - no joy I'm afraid, sorry. x

Just to say a very huge thank you for looking. We thought it would be fruitless, but hoped very much for a happy ending.

We bought a new teddy yesterday, and as teacher said this morning, "worse things have happened at sea".

A huge lesson has been learnt by my daughter, who will have to face up to her classmates as they choose a new name together.

It's good to know there are some nice people out there!

Mary
