Ooooh, it's so exciting! The thrill of going somewhere - I even felt like this when I had to travel for work, I am very sad . I still find takeoff thrilling

Do you hate it mosschops?

McDreamy · 25/05/2007 16:04

It's not that I love it, it just doesn;t bother me. Why does it bother you? (I'm assuming that it does)

Oblomov · 25/05/2007 16:08

I love it. I really don't know why. I like all parts of it: anticpation, going somewhere, checking in,
I love the FOOD !!
Sad, I know.

Cammelia · 25/05/2007 16:11

I find the best part when you're still on the ground but going about 300 miles an hour

wabbit · 25/05/2007 16:12

Pretty nickname!

mosschops30 · 25/05/2007 16:25

Great keep em coming

Yeah I hate it, need lots of positive things to remember when on the plane, like how many people are thinking 'this is great'

Cammelia · 25/05/2007 16:26

I also like looking out of the window when the palne banks and seeing all the teeny little houses and cars

mosschops30 · 25/05/2007 16:36

ooh i like that bit (thats about the only bit).

I hate shooting down the runway whilst I'm sucked back in my seat with the force, and hate the way I feel like its never gonna take off, and the way it climbs.

I like landing too, cos I'm on the ground.

If it could take off like a helicopter and fly so I could still see houses I think I'd be much happier

ok girls bring it on I need more reasons to enjoy it so I dont sit here obsessing about it

Darciesmum · 26/05/2007 21:43

I love the feeling, and knowing i'm getting outta Cold, Wet england for a week at least!

Smurfgirl · 26/05/2007 21:44

I find it very peaceful and relaxing, love the bump of landing. And its so exciting because you are going somewhere!!

thedogsbollox · 26/05/2007 21:44

I love the feeling that for a period of time you can sit down, be waited on, read a book, watch a DVD and there is no possibility of doing anything else with your time.

Almost everywhere else there is the phone ringing, the blackberry beeping, things to do around the house, etc etc etc. All of which just have to wait while you are on a plane. There is no where else to go - nothing else to do - except just 'be'!

mosschops30 · 26/05/2007 21:52

what a great thought dogs (although i will have dd and ds with me to look after) but Im taking a good book and plenty of shitty celebrity mags to keep my brain occupied.
never thought of it as a peaceful time to rest you are so right about having nothing to do for a couple of hours

The exquisite taste of freedom, escaping the 'bonds of earth', taking to the skies, flying away from everything that weighs you down and leaving it all behind.
I love the euphoria of take-off, that moment when you break through the cloud and the grey and the gloom and burst upwards into a vivid blue sky and the dazzling sun. It's how I imagine entering heaven might be.
However, the next few hours are boring as hell and especially tiresome if you're stuck next to someone with BO or are being kicked from behind by a malevolent toddler. But it's worth it when you get to paradise .
I think I may have had too much wine

mosschops30 · 26/05/2007 22:11

i like your thinking thought 80s mum (apart from the entering heaven analogy )

I love the whole thing. Checking in early so I can look round all the shops. Taking off. Peering down the aisle waiting for the food and drink, then landing. It's so exciting.

mosschops30 · 26/05/2007 22:18

dont any of you ever worry? i love it that it doesnt bother people makes me feel that I being totally stupid

Skribble · 27/05/2007 01:54

I usualy fly with Ryan air these days but I like the take offs they are quite exciting. I also like to relax anbnd read my book knowing there is nothing else I should be doing. DH sits across the ailse with the kids and sorts them out I ignore them and enjoy my book .

Skribble · 27/05/2007 01:56

Oh yes I like looking down on the fluffy clouds and flying over the snow covered Alps was amazing.

hellish · 27/05/2007 01:59

Sorry i know you said you wanted to hear good things aboaut flying, but I thought you might like a tip. I am a terrible flier but have had Beta Blockers prescribed by GP specifically for flying and they really do make it a lot better.
Don't let your fear stop you from going where you want to go. The more you fly the easier it will get - honestly, and don't leave it too long between trips.

I hate it when the plane banks. urgh. [sick emoticon]
Do like it when you go off down the runway at full pelt. like the climb too,i always look out the window.
Have only been on a plane twice. First time DH suprised me (when we were DP's) with a trip to Venice then we went on an early honeymoon last feb to italy (sauze d'oulx) skiing. Loved it.
