What to take MIL in hospital after leg operation

Hi, does anyone have any suggestions of a small gift to take to MIL who is in hospital after a leg operation. Visited her today and took flowers and dried fruit (which she loves). Am at a loss as to what to take on next visit. She doesn't like chocolate/sweets and doesn't read much. Any suggestions greatly received. TIA.

My gran brought me in some home made sandwiches when I had my first baby, and a packet of nice shortbread. I was so grateful for that as the food wasn't that nice or plentiful.

Magazines too

Nice pampering things, like hand and cuticle cream, um, if it's an NHS hospital, some edible food.

Something that is cool in temperature - cold drink (ice cream if sold in the hospital) as everything in hospital is warm.

some hand/face/skin cream. Your skin can get very dry in hospital.

Also, if she is going to be there and immobile for some time one of those desk toys with water and oil in can give her something to watch/play with for a bit.

Thanks for all the suggestions, don't think I can do more dried fruit (although it may help with constipation)! Great idea about hand or face cream will have a look for a nice one. Thanks again.
