HELP!
I've got a maggot infestation of my wheelie bin, despite having it cleaned last Thursday, and its not being collected til next Thursday. Any sure fire ways of killing them off? I've just poured boiling water over some of them but now my flesh is crawling (not literally)! It stinks too, which doesnt help the whole pg nausea stakes either. Its REVOLTING!

Sorry Honeybunny I misread your post, I see now that you get your wheelie bin cleaned.

Is this just your normal wheelie bin or a composting bin that has the maggots?

We have just recently been given the brown lidded recycling bins in our area and we're to use them for weeds, grass cuttings, fruit/veg peelings etc. But it said in the leaflet not to put any cooked food and no paper or cardboard. this one is specifically just for garden waste.

In Our normal wheelie bin we put all our other rubbish in black bags, it doesn't really get dirty because everything is already in bags which is why I don't get it cleaned.

Try Bin Fresh www.bin-fresh.co.uk

Since trying I have no problems with maggots in my bins and neither do they smell horrible even though we have these damned alternate weekly collections!

It really has made a massive difference!
