no - not until they are 16

geekgrrl · 20/05/2007 15:15

yes, they do - I only know of dd2's through her disability benefits application though - I guess it'll be on the child benefit paperwork??

Mercy · 20/05/2007 15:15

I thought you didn't get them until you were 15 or 16 but my info is probably well out of date.

Is she being paid?

sniff · 20/05/2007 15:16

my son was given one when I applied for DLA
but you get sent them routinly at 15.5 I think

Could you phone the tax office and ask

geekgrrl · 20/05/2007 15:16

cross-posted with AQ - maybe they don't then unless they get certain benefits...

RustyBear · 20/05/2007 15:17

You normally get a card with it on about 6 weeks before their 16th birthday. If they have work experience before that you just put 'n/a' on the form - that's what I did anyway & nobody queried it.

she's doing work exp next month when she will be 15.5yrs.

hope n/a will suffice

she doesn't do any paid work atm
